Hello, I’m Maria Antoniettte!

   Filipina. Food Lover. Old-Fashioned.

If you love the idea of bringing back some old favorites,

WELCOME to my Old Style Cookery Blog

I started this blog in 2009, but I apologize for not taking the time to write consistently. I thought it's time to explore this passion.

I’m no great cook but I make delicious green salads.😋Self-advertising huh! Well, not really, but kidding aside, I learned that from a salad-fan mother. I also don’t have my own cookbook. What you'll find in this blog are vintage kitchen stories, scratch-cooking, old-world dishes, cooking traditions, and stunning photography of the old world cookery.

Once Upon a Kitchen

Do you miss those days when grandmothers used to bake cookies or taught us how to prepare a meal?  Do you still remember how your mother makes a list of items you have to purchase including the name of the grocery store?

You probably think old-style cookery is only about ingredients that are outdated. There is more to discover about the way things were in the kitchen long, long ago. But speaking of ingredients, it's fun to learn about authentic ingredients our folks are familiar with and that you too can find in your local farmer’s market today.

I am proud to cover exciting stuff you can buy, which to choose from, and where to shop so you may revive an old-fashioned pantry. If you like to connect, you can follow me on Twitter @theoldstylecookery.

My dream is from the rarest truffles to homemade sweets –  I wish you find a little something to surprise the family. Thank you very much for taking the time to visit. I’m delighted to have you stop by. Wish we can be friends, too!

Your online best friend, aunt, and neighbor,

Maria Antoniette
